Australian Army Chooses Steiner Binoculars

Steiner Defense has been awarded two contracts by the Australian Army, one for the M750r LPF Gen II 7x50 binocular and the other for the LRF 8x30r binocular.

The 7x50 LPF Gen II features a special lens coating it that protects the user’s eyes from harmful laser light that might be directed their way. The Laser Protection Filter (LPF) blocks light from infrared lasers than can cause permanent vision damage without the person who is being lazed realizing it.

This added layer of protection is in addition to all the standard rugged features of the M750r series. It comes with a mil ranging reticle, is waterproof to 5 meters, is built on a bomb-proof Makrolon polycarbonate housing, and has a floating prism system to withstand extreme shocks.

The M830r LRF is a rangefinding binocular that is lightweight (28 oz.), compact and portable with the ability to range targets out to 1700 meters (1860 yd.). Like the M750, it is waterproof to 5 meters and able to withstand 11 Gs of impact force.

Both binoculars are built with multicoated lenses to provide bright, crisp images under varying light conditions.
