Perfect idea falls a little short
So I have been looking for a light that mounts like this for months. (Ever since I got my shotgun). It seemed like such a no brainer to me, from the get-go, to mount a light on the end of the magazine tube, but NOBODY else does it. So I was so thrilled to find this. But it seems like a GLARING oversight to not include a remote pressure switch with this light. As it is, it is almost impossible to reach the switch on the end of my five round tube. A remote pressure switch, to relocate the on/off function directly onto the fore-end would have made this an absolutely perfect light. Incidentally, I can confirm that the Remington 870 version fits nicely onto the IAC Hawk shotguns.

Moss 500
Received today and installed immediately. Upon installation I did run into a problem just like a previous reviewer the outer diameter of the adapter is oversized and does not allow to be fully seated the adapter interferes with the and barrel lug, The removal of some metal from the log was possible with a Dremmel to allow the adapter to fully seat I also installed a rubber crush washer between adapter and lug for solid install.

Beware with older model shotgun
This is a nicely engineered product and produces an intense white light. The disappointing thing is that the adapter which replaces the takedown screw of my early'90's Mossberg 500 is too big in diameter to allow it to screw down all the way tight. So unless Steiner can provide a smaller diameter adapter this light is unusable for my gun.

Installation challenges on a Mossberg 500
When I mounted it on my 18.5" Mossberg, the light extended about 1/2" past the end of the barrel. I don't see an issue using the shotgun, just FYI. I also tried to install this on another Mossberg 500 with a 18.5" breacher barrel, and the light would NOT fit due to the flare of the breacher.

Great product
Just got my Steiner Mk7 tactical weapons light for my Mossberg 500 JIC 18 1/2" barrel. What a great product... The light is even with the end of the barrel. No parts or brackets hanging off the sides to get hung up during use. And it all fits in the quick-draw scabbard... Good Stuff...

Nice slim look.Works fine,however
I have had mine for several years. The Mk 7 makes my Remington 870 (with after market 18 1/2 barrel from Midway USA) look so slim and trim. I own my yard at night now. However, the on/off button needed a drop off lock tight to secure and water proof it.The adhesive used from the manufacture did not seem that it would last long.

How exactly do the button presses adjust the output of the light? What is the sequence to cause the output to change?
The SBAL-PL and DBAL-PL for pistols do not have an adjustable outputs. However, the units can be configured to turn on/off various combinations of laser and illuminator with a single tap, double tap, or press and hold. For example, a single tap may turn on the laser only. A double tap could turn on the illuminator. While a press and hold could turn them both on / off.

How easy is it to install on the Beretta 1301 Tactical without the extension?
The magazine end cap included in the packaging for the Beretta 1301- fit model should thread on where the stock magazine end cap came off.
