I have a similar problem, I bought the Police 10x50 model and the fittings on the carry case strap are too large to get through the circular opening which provide access to the slot. Thoughts? Thanks.
Some force is required to attach the strap.

purchased safari 10x42 January 20, 2015. Cannot figure how the straps to the case fit, without coming off easily. Also, had 4 small plastic devices (2 &2) in small plastic bag...purpose? Warranted info on the way in mail
The small plastic devices sound like replacement Clicloc's
The straps should have a small circular catch that fits into a slot on the case itself, the straps should then be pulled snug, so that the narrow portion of the connector slides into the narrower portion of the slot on the case end.
