Military Marine 8x30 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from durable and great optics We bought the 8X30 military/Marine 10 years ago for our ranch and nature viewing. They are still going strong and get used almost daily year round. These binoculars get carried around on a Quad as we check cattle over open rangeland, which can be quite rough. The optics are still in perfect shape. We decided to get another 8X30 to have if we go on vacation while our family has the 10 year old set to use on the ranch. Other people have tried them and bought their own 8X30.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, only because of the warranty. I've had these bino's for a few months now, using them for both hunting and boating. I love the compact size and overall quality of them. However one day of light rain fogged up one side of the bino. I've sent them back for repair, hopefully I don't have anymore issues with them after this because before they fogged up they were great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good during day only GREAT viewing during the day. HORRIBLE at night if there is more than one light source. Many many halos and the factory warranty folks say its normal. Yuck. So if your using them during the day. Check Low light conditions on a hunting trip, Check using them for surveillance ops or anywhere that has more than one light source in the field of view....NO WAY, do not buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long time admirer, first time buyer. I had wanted a set of Steiner binos since 1984 when I saw my first pair of Military-Marines in the storefront window in Aschaffenburg, Germany. I had been thinking about getting one recently after seeing one recently. I appreciate the rubber armor and the durability that comes with that. The optics are phenomenal with crystal clarity. The movement is smooth like butter on the center axis hinge and when I set my diopter. The instructions are informative on how to set up the diopters for the user. I will enjoy this for many many years!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use brilliant images! I received my Military Marine 8x30 approximately 2 weeks ago. I was able to play a little but last weekend I was on a camping trip with my son and I brought them with me. So glad I did, I was able to enjoy super clear images of various wildlife around the campsite.

I thought these were made in Germany, but when I received them the box had a giant sticker on it that said, "Made in Vietnam." So where are they made? Germany or Vietnam?

Asked by: bob27
None of our products are made in Vietnam. They all come from Germany. It is possible you received knock-offs. Please send us an email at customer-service@steiner-optics.com

What are the N2 fog stop and how do they work?

Asked by: Hankster50
These binos are purged with nitrogen and then sealed to prevent any loss of N2 gas caused by changes in pressure or temperature. This sealing process makes nitrogen-purged optics perform better in wet and humid conditions and prevents the development of fungus and mold that can easily form in moist, enclosed atmospheres.

I have a pair of 8x30 Military Marine binoculars that I purchased about 15 or 20 years ago.  One side has fogged up and hasn’t cleared up for about a week.   Are these under warranty?   If so, what do I need to do to send them in?
