Predator AF 10x42 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm sold Ok, I’m sold. I purchased the Steiner Model 2444 Predator 10x42 Binoculars, the fit and finish is just what I expected from Steiner. These binos are very comfortable to hold very comfortable to look through, easy to configure for your (or rather my) eyes and easy to carry at less than two pounds. I love the way the strap attaches to the binos and how easy it is to take off. I have a chest rig that I like to carry my binos on and it was no problem converting it to work with these. How awesome Steiner, I didn’t have to replace my trusty chest rig. I did a side by side comparison of these and the binos I have been using. Looking through my Bushnell 10x42 then looking through these, I didn’t see much difference; I was looking at a small herd of antelope at about 850 yards. But when I put one eye in the Bushnells and one eye in the Steiners, it became very clear which binos were superior. Let there be no doubt the Steiner Predator 10x42 was clearer, brighter and I was able to see more detail on the antelope. The Steiner Predator 10x42 have become my primary binos and the Bushnells have been relegated to my backup binos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good for long range view It was a replacement of 8x30 that I lost in the forest. The power is brilliant but it needed to refocus between near and far object

To whom it may concern, could you please explain what "8x30 or 10x42" stands for? Thank you, best regards.

Asked by: Marti
Hello, The first number is the magnification, and the second number is the objective lens size. These two factors help decide what pair is necessary for what application.

How do you attach this model to a tripod? Is there a compatible adapter?

Asked by: James 166
For the Predator AF binos I'd recommend a universal tripod adapter strap. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Snapzoom-Universal-Binocular-Tripod-Mount/dp/B01M6Y5I5M

They do not require any power. It is done by setting each eyepiece individually.

Are these auto focus? Is there a knob to focus manually? I don’t understand how these work. Thank you

Asked by: Natt
Each eye is set individually at a set distance so that your eyes can focus when looking through. There is no focus wheel, if that makes sense.
