Commander 7x50 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Steiner Commander 7x50 2304 By far the best I've used. Amazing view, So clear and the depth of color is superb. You can tell the quality as soon as you pick the up. Easy to focus. I love the case that came with it. that little bit extra just completes the package. I noticed when I use these at night the color is amazingly sharp and bright. Great 30 year life guarantee which just shows how confidant Steiner are. I'm more that happy with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first pair of Steiners! Growing up as far back as I can remember my father owned a pair of military Steiner 7x50's (that he purchased back in the 1980's). I have a lot of hunting background growing up in eastern Co. and have spent countless hours looking through his pair of 7x50's and they in my opinion offer the best picture and field of view possible, not to mention their unmatched durability/ruggedness. Both me and my father agree that the Steiner 7x50 commanders that I recently purchased are nothing but perfection at its finest. Offering the great field of view the 7x50 objectives/magnification is know for and Nano-Protection lens coatings they couldn't of dreamed of back in the 1980's. Due to my love for Steiner products I have already purchased a GS3 4-20x50 rifle scope for my 30-06 and will continue to purchase Steiner products for years to come (like the MSR reflex sight). Don't forget about Steiner's amazing warranties.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is my third pair of Steiners! My first pair of Marine 7x50's was stolen off my boat. Heartbroken is the only way to describe that. I just replaced them with a sweet pair of new ones! There is just something about high quality gear, it has a certain feel ,and always performs when you need it. That is Steiner! They never disapoint me. I live on the water, I hunt , I fish and I do a lot of boating and I have had lots of binoculars, nothing compares to the quality of my Steiners. I will always grab them over any other optics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First class Very happy with this purchase. While more expensive to other manufacturers the quality of construction and lens quality are immediately apparent. If you consistently work/play in a very active waterway then these binoculars will be worth stepping up for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best of the best These binoculars were given to me as a gift, and I believe the person who bought them for me put a lot of effort in finding the best. I'm in the military soon to be deployed, these binoculars will give me an advantage over my peers, I will be able to do my job without worrying much about these binoculars because they show to be fit for any environment. This product shows me how much I mean to the person who gave me this gift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Steiner stands by product Bought this product back in the early seventies in Germany. Over 40 years later I sent them in to have the compass fixed and adjust the eye lens. They sent me back a brand new pair. I can not give this company enough praise to show my satisfaction. I will recommend Steiner to everyone.

Can you get it without the compass or turn the compass off?

Asked by: BGS1
The compass is analog and cannot be turned off (the battery powers a light so the compass can be used in low-light) However, the #2304 Commander Binocular has no compass or ranging reticle, so that your view may go unobstructed.

What makes these specific for marine use, compared to the outdoor or hunting lines? Are the optics better (clearer, light transmission, etc.) than the Commander V or just a wider FOV? Any trade in programs?

Asked by: Chris L
The lens coating are the Marine line's primary feature. The coatings (which appear blue) are designed to cut the glare off the surface of the water. The wider FOV allows for panning a greater area of the surface for other vessels or land. Sorry, no trade-in program at this time.
