MM830 Military-Marine 8x30 is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine optics in medium size Purchased Marine 8x30s at West Marine for work and sports viewing. Now I know what I've been missing using lesser glass. The light transmission and field of view really make a difference versus what I had been using. The sports focus is fantastic. Set it and forget it. Everyone who tries them can't believe the clarity. Overall a wonderful product at a reasonable price. Will not be my only pair of Steiners.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very crisp optics, but not waterproof with age I recieved my binoculars used from a family member and the optics are very crisp and they seem very well made. However, as soon as I had them in the rain, both eyepieces seeped water and now the binoculars are unusable. Granted, these were manufactured in 1997, but I thought they would hold up better than this. I'm going to put the Heritage warranty to the test hopefully get them fixed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I was skeptical at first when I saw these at the 2 I was skeptical at first when I saw these at the 2015 SHOT Show in Las Vegas this year, after looking at all of the binocular manufactures at the show I was met by a representative within the Steiner booth and was shown these inexpensive 8X30’s. I was looking for a decent pair of binoculars that I could use for my travels to Thailand and how happy I am that I bought these. When you first try to demonstrate these 8X30’s within a small area such as a large retail store with poor indoor lighting I don’t think that you’ll be too impressed. You won’t get the full advantage of them until you adjust them from a braced position outdoors to enjoy the full potential of these Steiner’s. All of my friends were trying to get me to purchase other manufacture’s binoculars that were in the $300 - $400 price range. For the price you can’t go wrong, and not having to adjust the focus is a big plus in my opinion, well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from War-zone proven Bought a pair of these in 2004 for a deployment to Iraq. They got knocked around for 11 months of HUMVEE patrols from Najaf to Baghdad, and are still working fine a decade later. I still keep them in my car, and last week used them for stargazing at the confluence of Venus, Jupiter and Mars with my wife - a much more enjoyable activity than their original purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Steiner the bar all other companies shot for! From the durable finish to the "as advertised" auto focus these binoculars are top of the line. If you're looking for a great set of binoculars to use for hunting, fishing, or other activity, look no further. Crystal clear viewing at its finest, and at only 18 ounces you won't even notice them in your pocket or around your neck.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for a while I had these binoculars for several years and loved them. They have been on 5 continents with me until they became defective. The binos will no longer focus the same in both eyes. I'm going to try get them repaired under their awesome warranty (part of the reason I bought them). The test of the company will be if they live up to their warranty promises. I would give these 5 stars until the malfunction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So good I bought another pair! I bought my first pair of these binoculars a year ago. I use them for bird watching and find that 8X is perfect. I like that I don't have to worry if it rains or if they get dropped. The sport focus makes it easy to get a look at a bird that may be gone in seconds. A quick eyepiece adjustment allows closer viewing. I just ordered another pair to keep in my car. I like these better than my Pentax bins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Binoculars, Better customer service!! My father left me some steiner 8x30 binoculars. They had developed a prism problem. I sent them in, and a few months later I package shows up with new 8x30's. WOW! Thats a warranty! Anyway, the new 8x30's look super nice. In fact I'm hard pressed to find any difference between them and my higher end($750.) nikons. Very pleased with the Steiner glass & support.

For the green MM 8x30, Is a different cap/eye protector available other than the rain-shield. I would love to have something that is similar to the objective end that actually fits to protect the binoculars better.

Asked by: blantonwh
unfortunately no, the rainguard is not designed to be a fitted lens cover, but merely a shield to prevent moisture from collecting on the ocular lenses when the binoculars are worn with the neck strap

How to get a good clear focus if my eyes are different and each eye requires a separate focus; so do the binoculars work as IF - individually focused?

Asked by: MarkM
The Steiner Porro-prism binocular's eyepieces focus independently.

I have a pair of BLACK 8x30 Military Marine Binoculars that were purchased around 1994. I lost the eyecaps. In the center of the binoculars between the objective lenses I did locate this number 80801 10004. Is the part # I need K0000553?

Asked by: Mason62
Affirmative. Replacement parts for Steiner binoculars can be purchased from http://www.steinerpartsdirect.com.
