The HX won't need this adapter. The front cap will unthread revealing the tripod attachment point.

I have an old pair of Steiner Police 10X50s that I’d like to use on a tripod. The front hinge pin is not a snap off cover - it is a metal head (abt 3/4” dia) that retains the two front rubber lens covers. Will this adapter work for me?
