Safari 10x42 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great General Purpose Binoculars Pros: I like the binoculars and they are my “go to” binoculars for general viewing needs. The optics are superb, and they are sharp edge to edge. The quality of manufacture is particularly good. I have small hands and they feel comfortable when holding them. The adjustable eye caps that lock into place is a plus as one side of my nose bridge is wider than the other, and length of the adjusted eye caps is different by roughly a millimeter to two between the two eye caps. The rubber armoring is well done. I had previously owned a pair of Steiner binoculars, so I had confidence in purchasing directly from Steiner which saved some money (purchase price $325.49 USD as opposed to MSRP $356.99 USD). For rural USA residents, delivery can be made to a post office box. Cons: The “neck strap” that is included with the binoculars is not very wide and short. Despite the light weight of the binoculars, the supplied neck strap doesn’t look comfortable, so I substituted a wider, padded neck strap that is comfortable. The supplied instruction manual is meant for any of Steiner’s binoculars and is somewhat cryptic. The left eye cup needs to be extended to turn the diopter adjustment in both directions, “plus” and “minus.” If the left eye cup is left all the way down, the diopter adjustment only rotates in the “plus” direction.
