Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wildlife XP Compact 10x26 Great I bought these binoculars to replace a set of golden ring leupolds from the 1990s that were stolen. Overall I am very happy with the quality of these binoculars. On initial review these are very well constructed, bright and have very crisp image. I look forward to taking these with me on my general outdoor activities. Thank you for another excellent Steiner product!

The Wildlife XP Compact 10X26 model listed on the site describes it in the second paragraph as "...versatile 8x magnification...". I read elsewhere that the "10X26" figure suggests that this model should offer a 10x magnification. Which applies here?

Asked by: Dave101
The product features and highlights for the 8x24 and 10x26 are identical, with the sole exception of the magnification power and objective lens diameter. the 10x26 model will magnify 10x

What am I getting in the XP Compact 10X26 that I wouldn't get in the Champ 10X26? The one difference I see is "Ultra-High Definition" vs "High Contrast" optics and maybe 6ft in field of view. Any thing else to account for the price difference?

Asked by: Boggs30
The overall construction and lens/coating quality is *much* higher in the Wildlife XP. Side by side, the differences are quite dramatic.

Removal of clic loc carrying strap on 10x26 XP Compact question. I accidentally attached my strap without threading it through the ocular covers for retention. Is there an easy method for removal without breaking the clic loc?

Asked by: Rateoftwist
Press firmly on the outside housing of the click lock area, and pull the click lock mechanism straight up with slight force.
